Antitrust says to assess dairy plants’ impact on low milk prices
MOSCOW, Jul 25 (PRIME) -- The Federal Antimonopoly Service will assess the role of dairy product plants in low purchasing prices for milk, the watchdog said on Tuesday.
"A preliminary analysis by the service revealed that milk producers have no possibility to affect the prices of products they sell," the authority said.
"In the current market situation, during qualification of a dominating position, we can talk about the establishment of low raw milk prices by dairy plants as monopolists, which violates the antimonopoly legislation," the antitrust said.
No proportionate decline of dairy product prices has been detected in the retail networks.
